There are many examples with regards to the time for prayer prescribed in the bible. One of these examples can be found in Mark 1:35; the bible states that Jesus went to pray a great while before day, which can be anytime between 3am-6am.
Our text for consideration states that the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians in the morning watch. By my interpretation, this text reveals that praying before the rising of the sun is important, which probably is the reason why Jesus went to pray a great while before day. Don’t allow your enemy to dictate your day whilst you lie in bed dreaming. You need to get ahead of your enemies in prayer and call forth your day to work for you. Are you being pursued as the Israelites were by the Egyptians?
Who is pursuing you? Who is trying to attack you? You can’t fight back by lying in bed. You have to get up and engage God for yourself in the morning watch. If you can engage God a great while before day, just as HE looked at the host of the Egyptians in the morning watch and troubled them; I declare that God will also look down and trouble your enemies in your morning watch, in Jesus Name.
